Welcome to Ethereal Arts. My name Is Jessi and I am a painter new to selling the paintings that I have spent years creating while working through major life events. I primarily use acrylic paint with a medium to create flow paintings. I also enjoy using many other materials to embellish the paintings. I am a Midwest woman that grew up on the soccer field. I have a degree in Veterinary Technology.
Some common themes among my art are trees, fantasy, flowers, opalescent hues, and flowy designs. I aim to create an image that is easy on the eyes, but draws you into the flow of the design. I love to work with vibrant colors, lots of open space, iridescent paints, and specialize in blues and purples. I use varied techniques of paint pouring such as ring pours, open cup pours, flip cup pours, dirty pours, straight cup pours, paint swipe pour, blooms, and many more. I also do the occasional painting of a landscape or object if I am feeling inspired.
I lost my intended career as a veterinary technician due to my chronic health issues becoming too much for me to continue like I had been. I received my letter saying my job had been terminated while I had been on a leave just weeks before the dreadful pandemic decided to change everyone’s world forever. Little did I know when I received that letter that I was going to be joined by millions of other people in due time. During this time of confusion, stress, sheer terror, and earth-shattering boredom, I found the art of pour painting and decided to give it a go. I had always been known for my math and science knowledge, so I thought this new endeavor was going to be scant at best. Over time, it became clear that choosing colors, mixing paint, moving the colors around the canvas, and seeing the stunning creations that result is a highly effective way to treat my worsening health and hoping it will allow me to help me with financial hardships that come with chronic health issues. I have had long on-going issues related to endometriosis, mental health diagnoses, and a handful of other conditions that affect my day-to-day life. Over the last 25 years, my health has been a rollercoaster that I could never catch my breath on until recently. I have art to thank for part of this shift in my body and mind. I have a few medical team members that have helped me immensely, countless daily lifestyle changes, meditation, and my family to thank for the rest of this essential shift in my life.
Some of my other interests include nature, animals, puzzles, music, and photography. I was previously a veterinary technician for just over a decade and I was deeply passionate about my job. I worked for a non-profit animal shelter that was very demanding most of the time and it became too much. I have always felt a calling to care for all the little creatures of the earth. I still get plenty of cuddles from my three dogs and a cat that thinks he is a dog. Like many pets these days, they have been ultra-spoiled from the pandemic because their humans are available around the clock. I do not know where I would be without my pets. All are incredibly special in their own way, but one of my dogs has a special connection with me and likes to spend his afternoons helping me choose paints and plan my next piece. He is a natural born support animal.
I am thrilled and so grateful to be able to share my passion and art with others and hopefully, it will bring joy, inspiration, and comfort. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions
